Sending files
To send a file:
- Click Upload file in the top menu bar
- Fill out the file upload form:
- (optional) Click the PASSWORD button to use a custom encryption key derived from a password, which recipients will be asked to enter before being shown the file download page
- Click CHOOSE FILE button and select the file on your device
- (optional) Specify the expiry date and time for the file's download link
- (optional) Specify the maximum times the file can be downloaded
- (optional) Enter email addresses of people you want to allow to access the file, or leave it blank to allow anyone who has the download link to access the file without logging in (assuming the link hasn't expired)
- Click the UPLOAD button to upload the file to your account
This takes you to the File Details page, where you can copy the download link if you need to forward it.
- If you whitelisted recipients, simply ask them to log in to download the file
- Otherwise, click COPY LINK button, or manually copy the URL from your browser address bar
- Paste the URL into a message (e.g. email or text message) and send it to your intended recipients
- If you added a password to the file, send the password via a secure method different from the one you used to send the link.
Receiving files
Receiving a file sent to you via download link
If you receive a link to download a file, click the link or paste it into your browser's address bar and hit Enter to open the file details/download page.
- If the sender has whitelisted you based on your email address, you will be prompted to login/register with your email address
- If the sender added a file password when uploading the file, you will be prompted for the password to access the file details/download page
- Once the file details page opens, click the DOWNLOAD button to download the file to your device
- If the link has expired, contact the sender and ask them to alter the expiry settings or reupload the file and send you the new link
Receiving a file tagged to your account
If anyone uploads a file and whitelists you based on your email address, you will be able to download the file from your account without the download link (assuming the upload hasn't since expired or been deleted by the uploader).
- Log in or create an account with your email address
- Click From others in top menu to see a list of files tagged with your email address
- Click on the relevant file to open its details page
- If the sender added a file password when uploading the file, you will be prompted for the password to access the file details/download page
- Once the file details page opens, click the DOWNLOAD button to download the file to your device
- If the link has expired, contact the sender and ask them to alter the expiry settings or reupload the file and send you the new link
Viewing, editing or deleting your file uploads
You can view, edit or delete any file you previously uploaded to your account.
- To see a list of your uploaded files currently in your account, click From me in top menu.
- On the From me page, you can click on a file's card to view its details/download page. From there, you can click COPY LINK, EDIT, DOWNLOAD or DELETE.
- To delete all your uploaded files at once, on the From me page, click DELETE ALL followed by YES, DELETE ALL
Changing a file's password after upload
- After you have uploaded a file, you can't add, change or remove its password.
- As a workaround, you can delete the file and reupload it with a new password or no password, but the file's original download link will be deleted and will no longer work.
Deleting your account and all related content
To instantly delete your account, along with all associated records from the database and uploaded files from the file system:
- Click Account in top menu
- Click DELETE ACCOUNT button
- Click YES, DELETE button to confirm
Resetting your account password
Assuming the notifications email settings have been configured for the application, the login page will have a link Forgot your password? Set a new one., which you can click to receive a password reset email.
Alternatively, you can ask the system administrator to reset your account password.
